Malvern Minerals New Novacite® Production Line Operational
Hot Springs, Arkansas – Malvern Minerals, a producer of microcrystalline silica flour for the coatings industry, has successfully installed new equipment that will serve as the primary Novacite® production line and increase production capacity four-fold.
This project has brought online a fluid bed dryer, mill, pulverizer, dust collecting system and associated transfer systems that can process four times more material in half of the time it took the previous system. With this new Novacite® production line operational, five outdated pieces of equipment are now redundant and will be removed and retired. The remaining operational mills, dryers, etc can continue to be used to produce Novacite® or dedicated to process another mineral for Malvern Minerals or third parties.
Brad Smith, COO, stated, “The operation of this new production line completes the largest investment in production capacity, flexibility, and reliability improvement in our company’s history. Malvern Minerals’ ability to reliably produce increased quantities of Novacite® has never been greater than we have today. Brian Neal, Technical Sales, shared, “With the 98% shipment reliability of the past two years plus the greatly increased capacity of this new production line, our ability to serve new customers and the increased requirement of current customers is greatly enhanced. Not just enhanced capacity but also enhanced quality and reliability. Malvern Minerals is now situated to aggressively target new business and grow existing relationships.”
Brad Smith added, “…and we are not done yet. Later this year or the beginning of 2010 we will begin a project that will further improve our packaging and warehouse systems.”
